I enjoy reading magazines on the Fire, and will read books using various reading apps. However, my preference for long reading sessions using ebooks is still the Paperwhite over the tablet. If you are strictly wanting a reader, the PW is great. If you prefer magazines, comics, multimedia type formats, then the Fire tablet is a great bargain.
