Sure, but it seems a bit of a shame that I can't contribute a patch to a project that others would find useful (not to mention ScrambleEbook is used a lot when someone needs to be debug an issue -- if the issue only occurs in a particular non-latin-alphabet eBook then the user is SoL because the tool can't scramble such eBooks).

There are about 20 plugins written by Grant Drake (kiwidude), they are amongst the most widely used (e.g. Find Duplicates, Modify Epub, View Manager, . . .). Grant stepped away from maintaining them a few years ago. Other members --e.g. JimmXinu, davidfor, capink, Rev Bob, and chaley -- take care of them now.

With with jackie-w's agreement you could do the same for this plugin, until she's ready to take up the reins again.

My family has been dealing with serious health issues for the last 9 months. Things are a bit calmer now but I've decided, from now on, I wish to have full control of my free time. This means I'll be stepping away permanently from existing long-term support commitments, which include this plugin.

I will still be visiting MR and helping out where I can with simple quick support - mainly in the Kobo forums - but I no longer want to commit to longer-term support obligations.

My final contribution to ScrambleEbook will be an update with the necessary changes to make it compatible with the upcoming calibrev6.x/PyQt6 release. I'll release this today.

The update should be available within a couple of hours via the normal calibre plugin update system (or directly from post #1).

Thanks for all of your work, and yes I will start from the latest release (thanks for dealing with the Qt6 support).

I just wanted to ask -- what is the license of ScrambeEbook and what I should I put as the copyright line? I only ask because it's slightly dodgy for me to upload code to GitHub without a copyright license and it's not obvious what the license is.
