Why would someone go to bookstore to buy a Kindle, when they can order directly from Amazon. I am seeing more and more people reading on their phones and tablets instead of ereaders. 50% of my reading is done on my phone and the other 50% is done on my pc. This was inevitable. There will always be some who will insist on having E-ink, but the majority of us will and are very happy with our phones and tablets. Last edited by cfrizz; 10-07-2015 at 07:51 PM. |

My Kobo Glo still works very well and I have no intention of getting another e-ink ereader until that one dies (if at all), as it does everything I need. Meaning it has great battery life, It's stable and easy to use for reading novels and any pure text media. It has a back light. for an ereader I don't need anything else. I more often use my tablet for reading ebooks though, but it's nice to have the ereader for long journeys, camping trips etc. I still like reading pbooks from time to time, but mostly for nostalgia or collecting a special edition of something. |

I personally have more problems with sleeping after reading from my lighted e-ink devices... You cannot tone down the brightness enough while still keeping enough contrast. My tablet, I have a black screen, with light gray lettering and the brightness to a minimum. Which leaves more than enough contrast to read, and emits less light than my e-ink screen does when I want to keep it readable. | |

What ever device I own for reading my books on is simply my book. Right now I use a Nook HD+ Tablet, but I do not consider it a tablet. It is my current book, although it could also be considered my current library. I do not like to read on my phone because of the small, for me, size. I used to read a lot of hardcover books so the size of the HD+ is fine for me. Apache |
