Amazon changed the logo on the back of all Kindle models from "Kindle" to "Amazon" quite a long time ago, on the grounds that "Amazon" is the more recognised brand. The last model of Kindle to have a "Kindle" logo on the back was the original version of the Kindle Paperwhite.

So there is no ground to claim that in each and every thread concerning Amazon, when somebody complains about something a big corp does (often Amazon), HarryT pops up to rectify the error in that complaint.
Sorry if it came across as too harsh, everyone can do what they want, but I think in all fairness that HarryT is the one violating this rule by constantly defending certain big corps against user complaints...

What rule do you believe I am violating? Please give a link to the rule you're referring to. I believe that I am pretty familiar with MR's rules and I'm not aware of such rule. I am, on the other hand, aware of the rules which prohibit making personal attacks on other MR members, the violation of which will result in you being banned from this site.

If there was an MR rule against members defending or attacking large corporations the forums would be much quieter and threads much shorter. And all of the fan boys, no matter what their leanings, would be banned.

I think you hammering your big corp justification bits on each and every one of the members complaining about a perceived deficiency of a product is a form of personal attack, especially when you don’t stop until the member complaining is silenced. I also believe that this effect is augmented by your status as a staff member.
On another note: In the statement „X is a member of the big-corp defense force“, where exactly lies the „personal attack“? The way I see it, this is merely a statement of fact (albeit a fact that X may not like and is free to disagree with).
But let's not derail this thread any further.

If it was for brand-recognition purposes, I think it's time to switch back to „Kindle“, which has already partially become synonymous with „E-reader“ and generally emits more “quality”. I for one would prefer walking around with a “Kindle” and not with a black “Amazon” thing...

I completely disagree. You don't buy an ereader from Kindle, nor do you buy Kindle books from Kindle. You buy them from Amazon. Amazon is much bigger than a simple bookstore. Pbooks, ebooks, and ereaders is only a very tiny part of Amazon.

1. It's none of your damned business what any MR member chooses to post about provided that such posts are on topic for the forum and do not violate any of the rules which are clearly laid down in the Posting Guidelines.

2. You are welcome to disagree with the content of someone's post, but you will not criticise them for making such posts if you wish to remain a member of this community.

That's the reason that Amazon gave for changing the logo. If you disagree, I'm sure they'd welcome your feedback on the matter.
