This site is usually good for estimating the time needed to read a book and I find it more accurately personalized than the info found on amazon.
Of course, I would love the stats the OP was asking for, but this estimate should help a bit. |

Thanks for the link!
I've tried it on a few books but the sample I was made to read was from the back cover of the book, not from the book itself. I wonder if this makes a reliable estimate. I think for the books I've tried, my reading speed was overestimated. I'll check it out now and then! |

The only way to have the time you spent on a book, is to use freetime.
Or to go at Kobo which have very accurate reading stats. And freetime only works with Amazon contents. |

I consider kobo not to be a viable option for me as I use a linux computer and using ADE with wine to buy epub books is a pain.
I'll stick with not knowing these stats, or only for a very limited number of books. ![]() |

![]() I'm adding a bit of complexity to the linux/ADE configuration because I use a non-standard environment in which I don't have a desktop. I remember when I tried it some years ago that it was a nightmare to find how to do the equivalent of "drag and drop" for opening the puchased link with ADE... I won't leave for some time anyway: I have received my PW2 for Christmas and hope to read a long time on it! ![]() |

Well, that changes things (only a bit, see below), but then again, even if they had a linux client it wouldn't help you.
![]() WINE should create a "wine-extension-acsm.desktop" which looks like this: Code:
[Desktop Entry] Type=Application Name=Adobe Digital Editions MimeType=application/vnd.adobe.adept+xml; Exec=env WINEPREFIX="/home/eschwartz/.wine" wine start /ProgIDOpen Adobe.ACSMessage %f NoDisplay=true StartupNotify=true Icon=3455_digitaleditions.0 ![]() Drag-and-drop: not strictly necessary. |

Thanks for the tip ! I'll try to keep that in mind when I want to buy an epub book (which should be in a long time...
