So basically, it's disabling the command to reboot. Will this brick anything or will it run per usual without the reboot?

sickel is still active but it won't reboot the Kono in case of either a nickel hang, or no nickel running (ie koreader or coolreader being used).

With a pre-3.16.10 firmware (a firmware without sickel) the hack will be there but ignored. With a post-3.16.10 firmware (a firmware with sickel) the hack will be gone and you have to re-apply.

As GeoffR pointed out in the other thread there is a potential this might break the binary; it does not for 3.16.10 but it's hard to make guarantees for future versions.

Hi all, does anybody find goods or bads reason to update GLO HD to this release?
On my GLO HD with 3.15 touch seems a little slow in reaction (I don't know if it's a firmware bug or I'm not used to infrared touch) ....

thanks

Infrared touch has no delay whatsoever. But the Kobo software has some.

Is there a trick to it? That new Japanese dictionary doesn't seem to be available on my H2O, when I put the 3.16.10 KoboRoot.tgz on it; even after a factory reset without any mods it remains unavailable, it sticks to the old dictionary. If I change the database entry manually it downloads the new one all right but is unable to use it.

This is while properly registered with Kobo and using the Sync feature... and sickel reboots when trying to switch Kobo accounts, very funny

Edit: 3.17.0 seems to have sorted my dictionary issues - good timing.
