Medical and Scientific errors don't bother me since I"m oblivious to them. I just get carried away by the story. (ignorance is bliss?) And "The Shining"? Very well done. Scared the crop out of me!

Most excellent read also. I have all of his books, in hardback. Stephen King and James Michener......shelf-worthy authors!

While they did a good job witht he mini-series, I preferred the book. It just felt more like King meant it to feel.

My two favourites are Misery and Rose Madder, I think because they delve into the mind a fair whack (though I read them when they first came out, so my memory could be playing tricks on me). For stuff more closely aligned with the "supernatural horror" genre, I'd say my favourite is IT. I liked its "epic" nature more than The Stand, I think because I tend to more like grand events spinning around single or few people that are unaware of the larger consequences of their actions (eg. The Hobbit).

Cheers,
Marc

I'm half-way through and enjoying it greatly. For those who liked "The Stand", let me recommend you "Earth Abides", by George Stwart. Oldie but goodie. It's a classic, but somebody here might not know about it.

The only problem is that Earth Abides isn't in Kindle format.

It's now $2.95. I snagged quite a few of his older books this morning that are now selling under $3.00.
