I like the Kobo firmware better than the Kindle, but you have to poke the screen to change pages so it's no use to me. To get the same control over font, size and margin on the Kindle you need to hack it, so that rules out the current generation for me.

"Poke"? Personally, I "tap" to turn the page. Or I swipe if I'm holding it in a way where that is more convenient.

You can either tap (poke) to change pages, or you can swipe, which is what I always use. Tapping just isn't a natural thing for me and I couldn't get used to it even if tried, I've always swiped on all my readers, including all Kobos.

Really? I always had to separate the next page grip it lightly between thumb and finger then pull it to the left, possibly not the best description but it sure as hell wasn't a swipe.

Just tried with a MMPB, if I wet my finger first I can get it to half turn, but then the page folds in the middle and catches.

Hey, whaddya know, poking does turn the page, as a caveat I would make sure you are bigger than the person who you poke and instruct to turn the page though
