I'm not interested in Apple music. I've tried spotify and google play music on free trials in the past and I didn't use it. I prefer to buy my own music and have it downloaded to my device and then listen to it at my leisure. For this reason I haven't even activated apple music. I listen almost exclusively to classical music, so "Shuffle" isn't something I use. One rarely wants to listen to the scenes of an opera, or the movements of a symphony, in a random order

Both my bank and my credit card issuer do support it, although I must admit that I haven't used it yet.

I'm a little dissapointed in the "up next" functionality. Say I start an album (A) with tracks 1-10. I than add album B. album B than play when A-1 is done (and is added before A-2). If I than add album C, it getts added after album B but before A-2. I just wish they always added to the end.

Also, one of the screens used to have a playing "2 of 10", has this gone away?

8.4.1 is out now. Just focuses on Apple Music fixes though.

"OS 8.4.1 is a minor update that includes under-the-hood performance improvements, bug fixes, and security updates. Throughout the testing period, no outward-facing changes were discovered in the beta, and Apple's release notes specifically mention only Apple Music improvements and fixes.

This release includes improvements and fixes to Apple Music.

- Resolves issues that could prevent turning on iCloud Music Library
- Resolves an issue that hides added music because Apple Music was set to show offline music only
- Provides a way to add songs to a new playlist if there aren't any playlists to choose from
- Resolves an issue that may show different artwork for an album on other devices
- Resolves several issues for artists while posting to Connect
- Fixes an issue where tapping Love doesn't work as expected while listening to Beats 1

It's likely iOS 8.4.1 will be one of the last updates to the iOS 8 operating system. iOS 9, iOS 8's successor, has been in testing since June and is on track to be released in the fall alongside new iPhones. iOS 9 builds on the features introduced in iOS 8 and adds both new content and underlying performance improvements."

I can't compare with the old version, being new to iOS.
But definitely not a fan of the music app.

I've grown to like the new streaming music. I really like some of the playlists that they put together. If they keep that up and continue to add songs, I'll keep it.

I don't particularly like the new version of iTunes, et al. I particularly don't like the lack of playlist on the iOS device for audio books. Yes, I can arrange them in iBooks (manual order), which is nice, but iBooks doesn't play the next in order automatically (unless there is some setting that I'm missing), which I use in the car. Until there is some sort of work around or I get a car that supports Car Play, I'm keeping my car iTouch at the previous version.

On a different note, it will be interesting to see how the different philosophies of Apple and Google/Amazon play out. Apple's philosophy is the curated approach. Better quality control, but less flexibility. Amazon's approach is to push the quality control on to someone else, the publishers, the customers, whomever. It's a more flexible approach, though I imagine Amazon uses it for cost control rather than customer flexibility. The down side is that quality control isn't very good. It's basically the Apple walled garden verse the Android wild, wild west approaches.

What don't you get about it?

I like that I can switch between albums/playlists/etc without having to change the song.

It's weird though.

The UI of iTunes hasn't fundamentally changed in years, at least not that I've noticed. What specific changes are you referring to?
