Are you talking here about embedding fonts in books? You can't sideload actual fonts on a Voyage, can you?

When you embed fonts in a book in calibre & then transfer to the Kindle. It only works for the book you've attached it to yes?

Yes, you can embed 1 custom font file per book. Although you can batch convert/embed multiple books in Calibre too which saves a bit of time.

I think e-reader resolutions have become good enough that they don't strictly need e-ink versions of fonts like they did before.
I found the LCD version of Bookerly to be way to light to be comfortable to read with. The weight does need to be increased to be readable.

... really? And do they pop as Publisher Font 1, Publisher Font 2, etc.?

In calibre it just gives you the option of embedding 1 font family... unless I'm mistaken?

Gerge means that you can have multiple embedded fonts in a book, and use them for different purposes in the book. You could have one font for body text, a different font for headers, etc. The "Publisher Fonts" option on the Kindle allows you to switch the embedded fonts on or off. What you can't do is have a choice of fonts, and switch between them.

Harry
But it's only available for that individual book right? I was wondering if would be a sneaky way to make a font available for all books on your Kindle.

Correct, it's only available for that specific book.
