In the good days, there were shows such as "The Navy Lark", on radio...a veritable treat...

(grabs zimmer frame, stage exit right, down the ramp).

My name is Angus Prune
and I always listen to I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again
(You Don't!)
My name is Angus Prune
and I never miss I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again
(Get Away!)
I sit in my bath

My name is Angus Prune
And this is my tune
It goes I-S-I-R-T-A
I'm Sorry I'll Read That AGAIN!

just because i loves ya, here's a song from ISIRTA (although, sadly, not the Angus Prune Tune, which i couldn't find anywhere) :
"taking my oyster for walkies."

enjoy !

(and thanks to this blogger for linking, and if you visit the page you'll notice they've also taken the trouble to provide lyrics ! so you can sing along at home !!)

Coo - ta very much, - deeply moved

("The identity of the singer is also at issue." Definitely think the singer is Bill Oddie and not Graeme Garden.)

i'm glad you liked it. it is a rather touching melody. i particularly like the poignant emotion of the lyrics.

as for the identity of the singer... yes, actually that seems to be the consensus, with only the blogger having some doubts.

I really miss British Comedy . Being stuck in Bermuda, all you get is US stuff...

Luckily I have my DVDs of The Young Ones, Bottom, Black Books, and a couple more not mention here but should be...

The Mighty Boosh

Spaced (An absolute classic!)

Thin Blue Line

Perfect! Of them, I'd probably rate Black Books as my favourite, but it's a close thing.

I'm curious about this one, because I believe there has been some cross-pollination with The IT Crowd (actors? writers?). I've not seen it though, and don't know whether it has been shown here (Oz) at all.

Cheers,
Marc

The goth in the closet in the IT Crowd is one of the main actors in the Mighty Boosh. And the Son of the companies owner is in the first series.

Some series have a lot of these actors. Try Garth Merenghi's Dark Place, It is hilarious. Think the diectors commentary over Stephen kings remake of 'The Kingdom', but with bad acting and bad special effects.
