Strange, just tested it to be sure. Version 1.65 (165150531).
Settings - Tuning - E-ink refresh rate always
Every page I got a black flash during transition to next page (using a white theme).
For me this is a working pagerefresh.

Full screen

Sometimes one can get desperate and feel so terrible noobish. Wanted to try the Nhedgehog's version of Alreader but couldn't get it to go into full screen. Reinstalled former version but no fullscreen (did go into it by tap in center)
Looked at all settings till i got square eyes but to no avail. The systems menubar keeps visible and because i'm used to read fullscreen that's annoying. Who has a clue...what do i oversee ? Thanks

1) Since I find it quite timesconsuming to setup AlReader, I use the Settings - Backup/Restore possibility quite often
2) Settings - Settings Complexity is a must since the interesting options are otherwise hidden (for instance the inversed display=profile4)
3) Settings - Main - Start in Full Screen is possible what you are looking for.
4) Settings - Tuning - Hardware and Main - Hardware Acceleration + High quality Image buffer is set on too, I can't remember if this significantly improved something but since my refresh is working ... who knows.

PS: Closing AlReader in fullscreen mode is definitely removing my infobar, closing it in windows mode brings it back.
PPS: Just remembered: I have Fov C67ML ROM, so the system has no bar on the bottom, just the one on top.
PPPS: Version 1.67 is working like a charm too.

I have a T62B, so I don't know if that makes a difference. Can you post a copy of your settings so I can see if they work for me? I am attaching both all options and current profile backups if you want to see if refresh works for you using my settings. I didn't know which backup to do - I use Titanium backup to restore.

AlReader - settings

You don't need Titanium Backup.
Just use AlReader:
Settings - Backup/Restore - Backup
AlReader is storing its setting in:
SDCard/AlReader/backup
Just unzip my file there and via
Settings - Backup/Restore - Restore
you can load it.

Just tested your settings. I have a full refresh (page inversion and back) after each pagechange with your settings. Which ROM do you use? I'm on FOV C67ML 1.7.2RC1.

BTW: If you use that ROM too, be sure to disable fastrefresh (upper right corner, second symbol from the right, shouldn't show A2 in it), if it shows, I don't have a pagerefresh in AlReader too!

I don't think that ROM will work on T62B.

I think you just gave the reason why page refresh doesn't work for me. I can't disable the fast refresh since it's automatic, but I wouldn't want to anyway. To me that's the best thing about Boyue devices - I can scroll and still read the screen. My first eink tablet was the piece of crap Onyx Boox T68 and that didn't have fast refresh either unless you turned it on. You couldn't see any screen until the refresh was complete so it didn't work anywhere near as well as the Boyue.

I have the T62B and when I tried Real Full Screen, I had to tap the screen twice to get the page to turn. I don't need that setting anyway since I can turn off the status bar in settings and have full screen everywhere. I use Button Savior to get the home button, back button, and recent apps button.

You need to go into your Google My Account settings on A Mac or PC, on the Google Search Page, top right hand corner, using your web browser & you'll find the Two Factor Authentication Setting On - Off switch there, in Sign in & Security settings, you can turn it back on when you have logged into Play Store on Your Energy Sistem Pro +....

To complete my posts regarding obtaining the Energy Pro+. Finally, almost 3 months after ordering, i got a third unit and it was working as it should be. No screen issues anymore. Hard- and software version is the same as previous ones so i surmise something in the screen production and quality control is not optimal. Because Energy Sistems doesn't produce the reader in fact they can't help that. This does not, however, alter the fact that the service they give after ascertain problems is very sub par.

Glad that you finally got a working model Urbie, but i hate to say it you should of just requested a refund so you didn't have to go through the hassle of international sending and receiving ,on the second unit not working i would of just given up and looked elsewhere which i did on my first unit that went wrong.

I'm now a owner of a paperwhite 3 and to be honest i wouldn't go with a non kindle ereader for awhile yet...ok i wanted the versatility of being able to download any ebook to the device and having the choice of different reading apps ect but so far android ereader's leave much to be desired.

I do believe with the i.mx 7 cpu's coming out at the end of the year and all the benefits said cpu will bring to ereaders, namely 0 ghosting/page refresh it should transform what a eink based android device can do...until then i won't be in a rush to buy one soon.

You are right. I just discovered that the behaviour of AlReader is ROM dependent. On my Energy eReader Pro with a C67ML system.img the Playstore AlReader version 1.67 was working like a charm with all the E-Ink feature (fullscreen, pagerefresh etc.). Out of curiosity I switched to the new Energy eReader Pro v.2 firmware and the same AlReader version 1.67 was not working as expected (no fullscreen, no black page betwwen pagerefresh), so I had to go back to the special e-Ink version 1.63 from Mike Sinkovsky.
special e-Ink version 1.63 from Mike Sinkovsky. Very strange, I'll report it to the developer.

Hello,

Just to update you on my case. I couldn't get the Google Play Store working. The technical support also couldn't help me further. They instead requested it to be sent in for technical inspection. I actually didn't want to give it away as the hardware seemed fine to me. Anyway, I complied. It took them quite a long time until they confirmed its receipt at which point I was so frustrated that I requested a refund instead of a replacement. Soon afterwards, I've received the refund.

I very much hope that open ereaders will become more standard as I don't want to be locked into a nice content system as the Kindle etc.

Hi Lucien
When there's one person on this forum who can understand your feelings then i am. Walked the same way and by times i was outraged by the service of Energy Sistems. Slow and indifferent. But i like the open concept that much that i persisted. Only the third appliance that was send did what promised, three months after ordering . Now i've my reader arranged, rooted, books and all kind of apps on it, the outrage succumbed and i very satisfied with my reader. But i would no one advise to go through the same hassle and annoyance. Success in finding an appropriate alternative.
