This is how it looks after modifying it a little: http://drop.muratcansimsek.com/IMG_20150520_144417.png
Traditionally, Google released all its typefaces after a while. We will just have to wait for now. Even extracting it from the Google Books for personal use isn't the right thing to do, but sharing them is an entirely different matter. |

Since many other fonts also don't have a thin space, could you please post a general FontForge tutorial for adding a thin space to an existing font in the Workshop forum? (Please pick a font other than Literata whose license allows modification.)

A tutorial for adding characters would be nice. Keep in mind, however, that the thin space character (\u2009) is not the same as the narrow no-break space character (\u202F).

I think it is just a matter of copying and halving U+00A0. This is dirty hack but should work.

Three years ago, Jellby had given me a way to do it with fontforge and another font.

EDIT: this is the way to go. It's working very well and I had the nnbsp correctly displayed on koreader. Last edited by roger64; 05-20-2015 at 12:13 PM. Reason: maybe |

The thinsp and the nnbsp should be in the neighborhood of one/fifth of the width of one em.

Here two joint screenshots to help (FontForge)
Pasting the 32 space in the 8239 box (with red cross) was just enough. No need to drag any line*. Paste, the cross disappears, the box is yellow, then generate the same font. EDIT 23/05 Dragging the vertical line, for example from 250 to 125 (Regular), reduces the nnbsp width and is indeed useful. Sorry for this mistake. Other information is still OK. Using it in mantano, and it is easier to read than the default that mantano uses.

I'm the same way. Aside from making it larger or smaller I've never changed it. If someone didn't point out what's different I would hard pressed to see it. |

I only see a difference in spacing. I don't like the new spacing at all. But I didn't like Droid either. I want my ascenders and descenders to have some size. Most of these fonts are fine on a screen like a monitor, but I find them a pain to read on my various reading devices.

Literata has quickly become my favorite font for all my ereading devices. You may or may not like it (there's no accounting for taste), but it's definitely worth checking out.
