Hi Tshering,

With the first test, I see many untranslated menus.

Therefore I have translated all text strings (1949). I attached the file with translation.

There are many repeated text strings and others that I think are from previous firmwares. It is and it will be very difficult to detect errors or incorrect translations of context with so many duplicate strings.

To locate the exact strings in to ereader, I have prepared another file translations with numbers. If you can do two patches, I will install the numbers first for locating the strings of this firmware in the ereader and so simplify translation into other languages and correct errors.

The archive contains the two patches and a further list of remaining translation strings. I skipped strings longer than 6000 byte.

The only problem with the two translation files was: N4GlobalSettingsView{ref}0 ...

It should be possible. But there will be additional difficulties because of the Chinese font. One has to change the font settings on several places. And since nickel does not load a Chinese font at start time, one would have to open a book (and possibly the fonts menu) in order to activate the Chinese font, after each new start of nickel.

I found the (or at least one) cause of the missing translations. I failed to consider that there are some entries that consist of two alternative translation strings, one for singular and one for plural. I will need some time to find how to handle these cases.

I think this is not the problem.

With the latest files the patch works well and I have translated most of the interface. There is only a problem in some texts of the tiles, the list of collections and reading stats. The rest of the interface is completely translated.

The text strings no translated not are in the file that you sent me:

Home display:

I think this is exactly the problem I was talking about. I did not include these data because I did not identify them. I only searched for data sets that consist of function identifier, English reference, Spanish translation. Therefore, I missed those sets that contain a second Spanish translation for plural expressions (e.g., translation: 1% hora; second translation: 1% horas). I will provide those items in the format

function_identifier{ref}reference_string{tr}spanish_expression{tr2}spanish_expression2

But first I have to identify them. After identifying them, there is still the possibility that there remain some unidentified sets, because they might contain some notes by the translator or something like that. I hope that this will not be the case. Let us see.

in the uploaded file, there are those items that have different translations for singular and plural. You can merge the list with your other list, or keep it apart, as you like.
As for restrictions. catalan_expression must not be longer than spanish_expression; and catalan_expression2 must not be longer than spanish_expression2

This could be! Just for your information: Curiously, there are some strings that are only available in English and Japanese.

I'm sorry, but there is an error in the home screen by my fault.

I put in the text string nº1446 a blank to remove the word "leído" (read in English) because I can not to translate into Catalan with only five letters. I'd rather just leave only the percentage of reading.

I do not understand because it looks good in the main tile but poorly in small tiles. The "x%" is not seen but show the code from the text string nº1440.

I do not know another solution that change the blank by a point. If you know another solution will be fantastic, but if not, the point is ok.

New file attached which also carries some corrections of context in the translation.

P.D. I'd like to know how to locate text strings in nickel and I'd like to learn how to make the zlib file.

I do not think that this is your fault. And I do not know who's or which's fault it is. I do not understand what is going on here. I think that Glo and h2O use different text strings to show the % read in small tiles. The h2o uses a texts string to put a font size smaller than in the main tile. Glo have the same size of font in all tiles.

Since Glo HD seems to be getting delivered with 3.14.0, I would not be surprised if we can soon download a new FW.
