How to stop reading Harry Potter - Page 3

I get into ruts when all I want to read are old favorites - Louis L'Amour is one of my fall back authors. Usually this happens when I'm under a lot of stress or otherwise mentally exhausted. I don't want to have to think about what I'm reading, meeting new characters, learning about them, etc... I just want to visit with old friends whom I know everything about. Then after a while, I'm ready to get back out into the literary pool.

I'm reading Catlow right now. I have a bit of LL withdrawal if I go too long without reading him.

I guess it might cure you from reading, so possibly a bit extreme.

There are lots of great fantasy books available in many languages, we can give you suggestions...

I did start the twilight series (finish 2 books) but found no reason/motivation to continue.

First off, I totally agree with those who've said, just read what you like. If it's comforting and enjoyable to read HP, than just read it. What harm does it do? That said, if you're looking for a very specific read, try Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. You might just love it!

It IS comforting and enjoyable, but part of me saying it is a waste of time, there are more to the world (of literature) than muggles and you-know-who.

25% off some of the ebooks on pottermore now. I just bought Books 1-7 and is now reading. I finally understand why the books are so popular. I enjoy what I am reading!
