I should mention that my wife did have to exchange them recently because of a failure, but they were extremely nice and responsive about the exchange, and they say they have updated and improved the Bluetooth/battery module since I originally bought it. You might want to call them to confirm they would give you a hassle free return option if you don't like them, and then I'd be comfortable suggesting you give them a try. I am picky about headphones for music, less so for audiobooks. I've also lost or broken many sets of earbuds, so I've had the opportunity to try many types over the years. Those Amazon earbuds are really very nice, the cord doesn't tangle, they are comfortable and stay in my ears. If you want something cheaper, the JVC Gumy earbud is pretty durable and sounds more than good enough for audiobooks, although not quite as satisfying for music. |

I just got this bluetooth headset and have been using it for about a week: amazon.com/gp/product/B00NW2JBYO
The earbuds are feather-light and the battery lasts forever. The earbuds retract so there are no wires to get tangled up. The main device is pretty light (wraps loosely around the neck, on or under clothing) and the buttons are easy to operate. It will pair with two devices at a time, has eq settings, vibrates when call comes in etc. I like being able to move around while my phone is charging or whatever. Unlike the previous headset I had which hung off the ears and wrapped around the back of the head, I can lie down with them on in most positions comfortably and it doesn't get in the way. So far I haven't had the wires get caught on anything but the buds will just pop out if they do. The Amazon earbuds are pretty good (especially with Fire Phone; the volume buttons don't work with anything else), but in the end they're not as versatile. I can't use them for working out, and when driving they don't seal off enough road noise (and it's awkward when wearing seatbelt). But I carry a set with me in case I need to plug in to my computer or some other device. |

I found a pair at Big Lots for $20, and while they don't have the best sound quality for music, they have great battery life and range and they're great for audiobooks, youtube videos, and even Amazon Prime video. I find it MUCH more convenient to be untethered from the wire if you want to move around at all while listening (such as while washing dishes). |

Wow. Those in-bed audio-headbands look amazing. I had never heard of such a wonderful thing until you wrote about it.
I have frequently tried listening in bed but neither earbuds nor over-the-head headphones work unless you are lying down staring at the ceiling. After a while, I get tired of staying in that position but if I try to turn even slightly to the side I get too much pressure on the ear and/or head, not to mention the tangled wire. Whoever invented that thing is very smart. So while wearing that thing, do you actually have anything in or on your ear which could cause pressure if pressed against the pillow or does it feel just like wearing any old headband? |

The actual speakers are 2x2 flat flexible squares so they are just like the head band. If you get the wireless version, the battery/Bluetooth module is fairly small and flat, padded by the band, and can be positioned where it's least in the way for the way you sleep. My wife has no problem with it. She also pulls the head band over her eyes as a sleepmask so I can turn on the lights when I get up without disturbing her.

I really like these for use when doing other things while listening: Far Ends short bud. I wear it while sleeping too. Player goes in shirt pocket, cord around back of neck to other ear.
Very durable. One ear is enough to listen for me, and I can hear ambient sounds while walking the dog or driving, etc. Fewer wires to get tangled. They make longer ones, shorter ones, and ones with a volume control and mic. |
