I think they are teasing me. None of the stores that I can get to easily have them. I'll have to phone around in case any just haven't updated the systems yet. And it might prompt them to check what's happening.

Definitely phone. My local store was not showing as having stock on the website, but when I rang they had plenty.

JB stores don't know they have them.
The store I visited didn't think they had them, then checked the locked cabinet under the eReaders, and there they were. |

Night crew stock shelves. Sales staff does not know about new stock unless they lock at inventory or open cabinet. Not unusual. Say this with new playstation.

They finally turn up near me. All three stores that I can easily get to suddenly had them. Of course, when I when I went there, the salesman said they didn't have them, I said the web site showed and he check and there were six but they hadn't been unpacked. He dug one out and gave it to me for $208.
And I was a good boy. I didn't rush home and ignore everyone. I went and did the shopping, brought everything in, put the cold stuff away* and made everyone a cup of coffee. Then I opened it. Happily, no bright spots and the PC does see it. I'm just waiting for the setup to finish. Apparently I hadn't mentioned to my wife that the light on my Glo had stopped working (she'd been visiting her parents when it happened). When she found out today, she offered to let me have her Glo and she would sacrifice herself to use the new Aura H2O. Isn't that nice of her? * The cans are still sitting on the floor. |

Woohoo David!
![]() I wonder why they're giving the discount? Pleased for you that they are because they're awfully over priced but that hasn't been incentive enough for previous releases. BTW I'm still waiting for mine. ![]() |

I think the discount is just standard practice for them in the electronics section. They leave a bit of bargaining space and accept the extra profit if you don't ask. The first time I saw this was the first time I bought HiFi equipment a long time ago. At the time, I was wondering if it was actually possible to buy something at the ticketed price. At JB HiFi, if you talk to a salesperson when selecting a product, it is worthwhile asking if they can do a better price.
Anyway, it is setup and looks great. The screen is simply gorgeous. I am surprised at how much bigger than the Glo it is. I'm sure I looked at the specs, but apparently it didn't sink in. Last edited by davidfor; 02-07-2015 at 02:49 AM. |

A couple of days after getting my H2O, I was setting up my Glo to give to mum, and I was thinking to myself: This screen is tiny... Despite the fact that the size difference is only 0.8". |

Wouldn't a heat resistant reader be more useful in super hot Australia than a water proof one?

The main thing though in summer is the humidity factor depending on whether one lives near the coast or not. Because when it's humid it means your fingers can sweat without you necessarily realising it until you go to touch something, like a Kobo ereader for example. So water resistant is good, but humid sweating fingers haven't affected my Glo so there is some tolerance already built in. |

Tell us about the built in web browser please. Will it expand full-screen? Can the browser do landscape mode?

No to landscape mode.
Frankly I would not want to depend on the browser for much. |

This summer seems to be a wet one rather than a hot one. We've had plenty of 30+ days, and a few 35+, but I don't think it's gone past 40 yet. As to rain, it seems to rain for three or four days, be hot for the next three or four, and back to rain. I read while waiting for my train, and I've been rained on a few times this year. |
