Perhaps worth adding, BTW, that if anyone wants a free copy of the 11th/12th editions of the EB, it is now in the public domain, and is readily available as a set of very readable PDFs. The PDFs don't include things like the numerous fold-out maps but, nonetheless, are worth having.

Harry, hate to be a pain but could you supply a link for the 11th/12th editions ebook please. I seem to have found all sorts of stuff but not the ebook version.

And I agree, listening to a book on a long road trip is a great way to pass the time. (Well along with singing out loud to favourite songs for a listening break!!)

Note that these are page-scan PDFs, not ebooks as such.

I actually bought mine as a low-cost DVD on eBay, and the ones I have don't seem to be the same as these here. The notes on the link I provided above say that Vol 3 is corrupted - it's fine on my version.
