I hope you go for the Aura as it's $99 with the sleepcover from Chapters.

LOVE LOVE LOVE my new.....Kindle Paperwhite!!!!
![]() Bought it at Staples for $119 and also a 2 year warranty for $19. If anything goes wrong in the first two years I am covered and deal with Staples, not Amazon. Just an extra insurance. I like the feel of it. It is very responsive, love the light and most of it, the size of the Kindle (compared to Kobo which looks like my Kobo Mini). Am super happy with it. No money left for a cover but hope I get one for Christmas. Last edited by bcgirl; 11-29-2014 at 02:07 PM. |

I don't know about Staples in CA, but the local Staples here has a number of cases. I suggest going to have a look at Staples to see what they have. The prices where not too expensive for a decent case (I did not take a close look to see how good they are).

The right choice!
I will check at Ebay for a case, good idea.
I think my Kindle brings reading to a whole new level; looking up a word in the dictionary goes superfast, not like my Kobo or Sony. Dutch is my other language and sometimes it is easy to see the translation! Also, I love the X-ray feature; the books I read with so many characters, who was this guy, where did I see this name again?.....there it is, a "memory refresher". I so love it and am super happy I got the Kindle. The screen and frame feels nice, right size to hold (like Sony PRS-T1 which I like), the front light that I can adjust or turn off, etc. A bit more money than I planned to spend (2 years replacement coverage) but it is worth it. ![]() |

For a cover, I initially bought the Amazon cover for, I think $40 and it was fine but way too heavy. It added about 60 pounds to the weight of the device. Well, okay, maybe I'm exaggerating a little but it seemed like that after I'd held it up to read for a while. Since then I bought one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/251336696635 I bought that about 2 years ago and it finally wore out and I got another one about 2 weeks ago and it's better than the first one was. It seems they've improved the fit, which wasn't bad to begin with. It doesn't add much weight to the Paperwhite and it's smaller and more comfortable to hold, even ignoring the weight difference. And it seems to protect it about as well. I think the one from Amazon is probably a lot sturdier but 2 years is fine with me for that price. Barry |

I don't suppose Kobo is paying attention. Its unsatisfying customer service, not the comparative quality of its device, lost bcgirl as a customer.
I do not wish Kobo ill. I like their devices too much. But I too had an unsatisfying experience with their customer service and really do wish they will improve it because if it does not I will likely look elsewhere for my next reader. |

If it was me, I would have ordered from Chapters. Wait, I did order from Chapters.
![]() I had no problem with Chapters and they even replied to my questions in a timely manner via email. |

Hey, bcgirl, I hope you know how to strip DRM, because books you have on your Kobo and Sony are not going to transfer to your Kindle unless you do.
I've been collecting ebooks for roughly 15 years or so, and I've seen several formats come and go, which is why I don't buy anything I can't strip and convert if need be. You never want to be tied to one format, trust me on that. It's like having to re-buy all your paper books anytime you buy a new bookshelf. |
