I have a nook STR and I find the interface to be a mess. I cannot recommend one at all. The only reason I got it was because it was cheap to have as a spare. The partitioning gives you very little user memory and the interface being such a mess makes it not worth bothering with.

I guess it depends on where you start. I think the interface is fine and, since it has an SD slot, the portioning scheme of the main memory is moot. But it's not the software or memory that "sells me," it's the ergonomic build of the device itself that I like. Easy to hold and use. Nice dark fonts.

Speaking of dark fonts, no way. I find the same exact fonts on the nook STR lighter then the same fonts on my 650 and T1.

My T2 has lighter (thinner, I think, by design) fonts than my Nook. I like the Nook's fonts -- well two of them anyway. I never use the non-serif fonts. I'm not running down the Sony's screen, however -- it's sharp, but its fonts, though good in bright light, are a bit harder for me to read in lower light situations. I also like where the Nook places it's page turn buttons (two sets, one on each side) much better than the one set of buttons on the bottom of the T2.

People should buy their Ereaders from Spain. Here all electrical and electronic devices have a 2 year guarantee by law. Failing that, take out an extended (paid) guarantee. You can still buy your books from your own country.

That applies anywhere in the EU, but note that it only applies to customers who are in the EU. An EU company doesn't have to offer a 2-year warranty to a customer in the US, for example.
