Exactly what I was thinking When you "Buy" Calibre you are really buying its talent. Kovid, and any of the independent developers he may bring in with him.

Build or buy. Kobo faces the decision like the rest of us.

I think it's literally a "no-brainer." (Sorry, couldn't resist.)

But no, I don't want Calibre in Kobo's clutches (as much as open source project could be in anyone's clutches). But I have absolutely no problem with them using Calibre, or even forking and rebranding a version of it.
