I posted this on the 2014 discuss thread but I wanted to post it here and to thank everyone for helping me yesterday. I'm very ill at the moment so my patience is not at its best.

I returned my HD 6 today. I did get it set up as i wanted it to be but ended up realising that my ipad mini gives me exactly the same functionality as the HD and in some cases better options.

The main issues I had with the HD 6 was

1) Personal Documents (which in my case are all ebooks) only show covers in the Carousal or the collections view. In list view the covers are not shown, just the book title (can't remember if the authors are shown, but I don't think so)

2) Collections view does not have the ability to sort by either recent, title or author. Thats only possible in List view

So in a nut shell my collection of 183 books can show me covers but i can't sort it at all, and the list view, which is all my personal document collections compiled together, can sort but doesn't show me any covers.

The ipad app does both these things, and it doesn't split books and personal documents up into two seperate sections either.

I didn't delve too much into the books section as the majority of my 'books' are personal documents. I know i could use Calibre Collections but i can use Calibre with Marvin on my ipad mini and get practicaly the same result.

I was probably stupid to even get the HD 6 in the first place but i wanted a smaller form that my ipad mini. I'm going to get a thinner lighter case for my mini instead and work with what i have.

I honestly didn't expect the free ios app to have better functionalty than their own Fire tablets.

Can you explain in easy to understand steps how to get the paid Amazon app onto the Amazon tablet?

I insalled it on an android tablet. Used Titanium back up to back it up, which made three files. I put all three files into Dropbox, and transferred them that way to the Fire. But I can't install it.

First you want to back up Moon+ settings so you don't have to configure everything again from the old app you've Been using. You can do this inside the app. On your Android tablet use ES File Explorer to back up to apk. Amazon apps are not blocked like paid Google apps are so you don't need Titanium. Transfer apk to KF and install. You can then restore your settings inside Moon+

Depends on the app. License checks can cause it not to work.

Yes, by rooting and installing the Google Play Services.

Does anyone know where in esfile explorer one can go to find proofreader for backup? I can't find it anywhere.

It's under under Library called App.

Thanks. Couldn't find Library, either. I wrote Amazon, and they were kind enough to refund my Coins. I'll just stick with the Play version!

It's only change in the last few version but to find the App Manager in Es File Explorer.



Once there you just long press on app to select and the backup options appears on the menu bar. All apks are backed up to a folder called backups\apps

Blossom, thanks for the screen shot. I discovered I was using a different ES File Exlorer (cupcake). Now that I have the same version as you, I do see the Library option.
