A proper epub, yes. But one with different formatting than if it was downloaded as an epub. The one I had was different title and font formatting.

Sorry, I didn't mean to kick the anthill!
So, who has used Google books to purchase epubs? How was the experience? |

I like buying from Google Play. I've found some books that were cheaper at Google than Amazon.

We've already been through the kepub is differently formatted to the ePub issue. It was a bug in Modify ePub that left some style information behind in the header of the kepub that caused the formatting differences. Now using Modify ePub, the formatting of the kepub (converted to an ePub) is fine (well, as fine as most publisher formatted ePub is).

I recently discovered that http://booksamillion.com/ sells epubs. I've bought only a few so far but have not had any problems yet. I bought them via my PC and loaded them to my Sony PRS-T1 via the Sony software. I have not attempted buying directly from the PRS-T1 so I don't know if that works.

The more I read about intrusive ADE the less I want to deal with it.
I'm seriously tempted to build a killer collection of public domain classic literature on my readers and stay unplugged for good. There's plenty of that sort to read out there; enough to last the rest of my life. |

I like Feedbooks (www.feedbooks.com). I'm very impressed with the way their public domain books are formatted (they look really good on my Sony T2) and I've tried a couple of their pay books. I can't tell you how good their new release selection is as I mostly search for classics. I have not run into any bad formatting yet -- more than I can say for B&N or even Amazon.

Does every thread have to degrade into a battle between Kindle format and EPub format? I think the original question was "Anyone care to recommend an online vendor for epubs?" While, personally, most of my books are bought from Amazon (more now due to recent changes at B&N) the original question was NOT "Anyone care to recommend an online vendor for Amazon formatted eBooks?"
