Sometimes the only practical advice is "publish as PDF". There's a job floating around to convert the entire catalogue of a publisher specialising in religious works. Not modern, happy-clappy self-improvement stuff, but page scans of ancient tomes full of quotes in Greek, Hebrew and doubtless Martian. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

LOL...

I wonder when they'll come knocking at our door? We have a ton of religious publishers, so I shouldn't be surprised. Seriously, feel free to send 'em our way; we have a relationship with a top-drawer scanning firm, so I'd be happy to take a look. Nothing more, obviously, until I've seen it, but...it takes a LOT to scare me, anymore.
