I still have my K1, K2, K3, & PW1.

My K1 died roughly two years ago and haven't been able to resurrect it despite several attempts including new battery, extensive charge sessions, etc. It doesn't show that it's even charging once connected. Nothing happened, it just quit charging at all, with any battery

I still can't bring myself to let it go - hope springs eternal.

By today's standards, yes. But the first time I sat next to somebody on a plane reading one I was enthralled. I'd heard of them, but never seen one, and it was so tempting to prevent her from reading by asking all about it. :-)

So you're saying I should sell my Newton and iPaq? :-)

For me it's because I tend to use things until they're so obsolete that nobody wants them and it's not worth the trouble to sell them for a pittance.

That said, my Newton is starting to reach the point of vintage computer now and might be worth pulling out and selling, after playing a few games of Daleks if it's still in the volatile memory. :-)

That didn't work, so let me try again:

I think we keep our older devices out of a nostalgic sense of the past and how technology has changed.

Nostalgia is fine, I keep my older paper white not for that reason, becuase the thing still works, however has some problems now and then.

I've had the K1 before, but I sold it awhile back. I bought another one recently, however, because I had the chance to get it at a ridiculously low price. I've always liked the way it looks. It's quirky, and it isn't the prettiest ereader I've seen, but I think it has it's own sort of charm.

I agree: It's charmingly ugly!

It has a kind of charm like an old black-and-white television, like the one I had when I watched the Howdy Doody Show with that pug-ugly Buffalo Bob and his evil Howdy Doody playmate who was always trying to escape from my locked closet with his long fingernails scraping - always scraping against the closed door - and how in the morning when I opened the door, I would find a Howdy Doody tooth with a long root attached and that tooth lying on the floor and those long gashes in the wood and Howdy Doody looking up at me with that evil grin on his face, and I knew....yes, it was then that I knew true evil.

The Kindle 1 has that same charmingly ugly look to it.

I keep my old Sony 950 in case of prolonged power outage. I don't have many paper books anymore and would probably go nuts with nothing to read.

Same here connie, I think that if I did not have a book or two I would go out of my mind, I have a nasty habit of going to a library, over a few months, and reading everything they have and go off looking for more. Now I have Kindle Unlimited, finaly a library can keep up with me.

There are a lot of forum members around these parts with as many as five devices. I feel like an amateur I have a Kindle and a Simple Touch, thats only two.

I still have my K1 but I didn't keep a rotating charge and I am pretty sure the last time I checked, it wouldn't turn on. I should look into it!
