Please provide a link to a peer-reviewed medical study which supports your claim. Reading on an LCD screen absolutely does not "damage" your eyes. You personally may not find it the ideal reading experience, but that doesn't mean that it's doing any harm.

I just noticed that Amazon has dropped the Kindle nomenclature from their tablets. The only devices with Kindle in the name are the e-ink ereaders.

Yep; though I'd spend the extra $20 to get the 16 GB (11.6 GB user) version. 8 GB (4.5 GB user) is barely adequate for apps and games. Once kids start loading music, photos, videos, and picture books, 4.5 GB will disappear rapidly.

Yeah, I noticed that as well. I think it is a good decision that will help separate the two from each other. Kindle is the reader. Fire is the tablet.

The Kindle Fire HDX 7" is now the only remaining "Kindle" Fire tablet, I believe. I was wondering if they would retroactively start branding it as Fire only, but so far they have not.

I just learned the Fire HD 6 has a SlimPort-compatible USB, so it can be hooked up to a TV via HDMI with an adapter. Yay! I'm disappointed that the Fire HDX models don't have this feature.

I'll probably buy one of these once they're available in stores and primarily use it to view Amazon Instant Videos on my TV. This will be my first Fire. Amazon did things right with this one! It has a good combination of features at a reasonable price. The colors are a fun option, too.

The HDX models have Miracast, which is a wireless display mirroring technology.
