I have some hardcovers that are bright off-white/ivory, but most of my paperbacks were grey or yellow. They did have better reflectivity than an unlit ereader, though.

I think the shiny white paper used in many magazines and some books has worse glare than a shiny LCD screen. Sometimes it is difficult to arrange the light, paper, and eye so that reading is even possible.

Hi - I'll just add that I did not like the lighted grey screen of PW1 either - in fact I gave it away. I really didn't like it.

PW2 has a much warmer screen - more of a cream than grey, and I love it. For me personally, I found a huge difference between the reading experience on PW 1 & PW2, so if you have a chance, you might want to have a look at it.

That light from Kobo Glo only hurts my eyes when I have a hangover. I don't even notice it otherwise.
