My favorite Steve quote is "Yep, I'm afraid you are. We'll try to look into it." in reply to an email I sent to him in 2008 asking if I was screwed because a developer abandoned an app in iTunes and ignored all reports of crashes. The problem was fixed 6 months later.

I did this too, BEFORE I asked for proof. Since I cannot find any trace of that quote, other than this very thread, it lends doubt to the quote. Nevertheless, you seem to be taking it on faith that it is there -- or perhaps you get a different result? Not a Steve Jobs quote, but MobileRead member Cpl Punishment had at one time the best quotation in a signature ever. I liked it so much, I stole it and still use it as my email signature.

Regarding the quotes issue, I think its always safer to rely on books than google. I've found google a purveyor of erroneous information quite often. Although as an entertainment device, google is second to none...

Also, I find lots of books quoted in Google Search, on account of them having indexed those too....

And I wouldn't've thought you were the first person ever to have quoted it on the Internet.

Not a quote but I got a kick out of the story in his biography of him putting the bomb under his 4th grade teacher's chair.

No harm was done, but it scared her and I think it got him kicked out of that school

It's been a while since I read it.
