re: BabelFont -- the thing I really like is being able to simply click multiple characters I need to make a pasteable (is that a word???) string, that I can insert in my editor. (instead of click "select", click "copy", etc, etc in character map.)

"daſs" is indeed the correct spelling according to the 1996 spelling reform, however, in texts published up to 1941 (when blackletter fonts were abolished), only "daß" was used.

I.e., if you're going for an authentic look, "daſs" would be incorrect.

IMHO, it also doesn't make sense to use the 1996 spelling rules with German blackletter texts in general, but some hard-core blackletter fans will probably disagree.
