the older Kindle touch has twice the capacity of the newer PW ( 4Gb vs 2Gb) according to the table I linked to earlier, so it should hold over 3000 "normal" books ( or about 30 if your books are like anothercat's ) . The OP already has 1,395 books so a 2Gb PW will have little room to spare for more new books.

so Kindle touch could be a better + cheaper choice, unless the lit screen is essential

And I bet you baked that cake/loaf you are carrying by rubbing two SD cards together to make a fire to cook it on .

Storage really comes into its own when travelling. We are periodically away for a month or more at a time (often in areas with no WiFi access and poor or non existent cellular coverage) and while I have a big selection on the reader and its card, I take my whole library (and music library too) on a USB drive in order to Be Prepared .
