(Thank you for including '42' - all polls should have '42' as an option, imho)

I'll go to a favorite author first and then go back and read the rest of the collected stories/essays etc. Introductions and such I'll save for after I've finished because I enjoy and appreciate the content more that way.

Reading an anthology straight through varies with my mood and the book - sometimes with certain genres I'll read a few entries, leave it aside for a novel or nonfiction book, read a few more, repeat until finished. I usually do finish them, only bailing on a few.

I tend to skip around based on author's name or on how the Title of a story grabs my attention.
