@cryzed: KUAL basically does a grep, so, nope, it should track the config properly, no matter what.

The verbose behavior you mention is perfectly normal. Those are the last messages being printed, and nothing will automatically overwrite them, so nothing wrong there. With the notable exception that enabling OpenSSH isn't what triggered the iptables message, enabling WiFi hole-punching is.

The second part would imply that volumd isn't even part of the problem, and that ssd is being dumb with its PID file and/or fails to kill sshd, which is very, very strange... Will check on 5.3.9, just in case [EDIT: Nope, nothing wrong on my end].

What about the usb0 ip warning, does that still happen?

No, after disabling the SSH over USB feature, it doesn't appear anymore -- If I enable it again, it does. I would happily run a slightly modified script of yours, with more logging output and give you the log files -- if you feel like creating such a modified script and if you think it might help.

I have been trying to use KindleExplorer to move around some png files, but while I can copy from the /usr/share/blanket folders I can't paste anything into them. My guess is that it has to do with permissions. Anyone tried this? Got a fix?

By your help nypaulie I jailbroken my PW2 .
But I tried to install duokan 2013 on the device but it didn't work .
I just wonder if you can help me to set it up into my device

So far I only installed the jailbreak for the PW2, not on the other hand the jailbreak bridge.

The readme didn't really make clear if that is still needed or if it is even compatible with the PW2. Any suggestions?

Also did anyone try using the update lock hack on the new devices yet?

I guess the bridge is now bundled in with the JB (given the name of the bin file) but I could be wrong

I asked in the backdoor lock thread yesterday but no answer yet. I'm normally quite willing to try stuff but in this case I really, really don't want my PW2 updating itself to 5.4.2 if the lock doesn't work so I'm waiting for confirmation

@cryzed: Yep, the bridge is installed by the JB (as usual, every JB has been installing the bridge, and that since the bridge came out, hence the relative lack of details in the first post

@Yolina: why are you so against it updating to 5.4.2? The jailbreak works with that version, as do most hacks that are around for the PW2 currently as far as I know.

Because all it brings is:

- basic Goodreads integration (but only in the US) so wouldn't benefit in the UK and I don't use GR anyway
- free time thingywhatsit - I have no kids so don't care about that
- cloud collections - seems to be badly implemented, brings back to life all your old collections from previously registered Kindles even if they've been deregistered, grayed-out books from the cloud that aren't on your device are displayed even in Device view

CC doesn't seem work with sideloaded books (all of mine are, though they are mostly purchased from Amazon) and it keeps nagging about the wifi not being on and thus being unable to sync every time you make a change to a collection...

Yeah, now that you mention it, I wish I hadn't upgraded either. Might have to look into some kind of downgrading method, provided it exists...
