Is Google Drive still incompatible with Calibre? It seems to be working fine for me. When do issues usually appear? All of the folders are intact and have the correct numbering.

Google Drive will continue to be incompatible until Google fundamentally reworks the service in order to get rid of the problem. (The "problem" as far as they are concerned is a core feature.)

At some random time it will simply rename all your files, but one sure way to trigger it seems to be involving any sort of sync with another computer.

Mine worked fine until I synced it with my other computer. I didn't have the problem with Copy. So to sync my library between 2 computers, I've had good luck with Copy.com. But Google has only been good for sharing with friends. Do not rely on Google drive. Because really it will be a big mess. Really big mess. Sigh.
