I understand that; just mentioning that by it's nature, it's an effective medium for short-form communication of this type.

EDIT: And that the folks at Pocket use it well.

Also noticed that when running on F/W 2.9.0, if you have it set to automatically sync, when that happens it does update your Pocket account. This is fantastic as I can go through articles at the end of the day, send the ones I'm interested in to Pocket, and know that when I grab my Kobo on my way out the door in the morning all the new articles are on it.

Some very thoughtful improvements in the latest firmware.

Lastly, I asked @PocketSupport the best way to report articles if you're using the web app (why they don't have a button for it, I don't know), and they said:

So if you're using the web app and run across articles that don't work right, that's how you can let them know

Buffaloseven that's actually damn good advice. Interestingly enough It looks like the The Toronto star has taken the link out of its location. I think I will be switching regardless to the Toronto Sun instead for my news its much better any way .

I will though take the advice you have provided and share any strange results with them

Thanks

Overall impressions of the Pocket Universe?

So just curious now that we have all had a good enough time to play with the pocket format, and there are some trial and error issues as well, but those we will put aside for another day. What are your overall impressions?

I have one thought on the use of the integrated Pocket tech in Kobo, I was looking for some manuals for an Antique Anniversary Clock and could only find a website with images of the manual and some other instructions. On a whim I linked it to my pocket account and a viable article was created. It seems to appear on my Aura Hd in pretty good condition and very readable. So that's one use I found. I think I will be jumping whole heartedly into the Pocket Universe with no qualms. The Value this addition of Tech to the Kobo Universe is unbelievably the best innovation they have come up with in a long time.

So guys, what uses have you found?

One reason I wanted a kobo. Worked well at first. Today I "pocketed" an article on line and no matter how many times I refresh it does not download to my kobo aura. boo

Pocket will only sync articles that meet both these requirements to Kobo devices:

1. The article is categorized as "Articles", not "Pictures" or "Videos"
2. The articlea can be correctly parsed. You can tell this easily by seeing where it takes you when you click on it on the Pocket webpage; if it takes you straight to the page where you saved it from instead of loading it in Pocket, the page cannot be parsed. If you feel that it's a problem, you can report the page to Pocket through the ways I mentioned above.

That would be a pocket issue not a kobo issue. If you look here..

if you share the pocketed link with the support team they can resolve the issue.

Buffaloseven did the initial posting for this solution.

Thanks. I see that I was trying to Pocket an entire site and not an "article."

Mind you I personally don't see an issue with trying to do things big. But in this one rare instance I guess Big is not entirely better...Its obvious we will have a big learning curve at times till we all get pocketing under out belts so to speak.

As long as you remember that Pocket is for saving individual "things" for later, you shouldn't have many problems at all :-)

It's a great service. It sure helped being able to save articles for later to read on my phone when I was up late at night rocking/holding our son to help him get back to sleep when he was just a little thing. Practically saved my sanity!

I've been using it for a while and am quite familiar with it, so if I can help anyone out, just ask and I'll let you know what I know!

Now there is an idea. We should a start a sticky for pocketing on the Kobo devices. DO'S, DON'TS, ADVICE, GENERAL KNOW HOW ETC. I think it would be useful. And considering how usefull pocket is I wonder lol if we would be able to pocket such a thing lol.
