Kindle Paperwhite Trade-In $122

And it seems even more odd that depending on which Paperwhite model you own you could get a low value of just $39 (which seems way too low IMO) or a high value of $105 (which seems high for a year old unit). I'm glad they gave froggie731 $122 though!

Oh, and the K3 has a much higher value than the Touch! I've had both and I can kind of see that. The Touch was not Amazon's finest hour by any means.

I can understand it to some extent, but I had a tablecloth (sold by Amazon) go from 40.00 one day to 76.00 the next. Nuts.

I'm too leery to hand over my current PW1 for trade right now. I'll have to wait and see how the PW2 pans out. I doubt I'll get as much as 122.00 later, but oh well. I'm happy for froggie too! It would be pretty amazing to get that much back.

I rarely use my Touch anymore as I mostly use the Kindle app for iOS. I'm tempted to trade it in, but not at $26.

Wow! I am glad you could benefit from this. Too bad I couldn't part with my PW1 before I got my hands on the PW2 or I could had gotten that much for my PW1 too. So, are you planning to get a PW2 with your earnings?

It says that trade-in items are purchased by third party merchants. I'm guessing those merchants change a lot.

Yes, I am! I had it preordered and changed the payment to come from my credits. I know there won't be much of a difference, but I love upgrading to new tech, but only if I sell my old one though! I really thought for sure they were going to send it back saying there was some sort of error with the pricing. Guess I got lucky this time around. I looked up a lot of other things to trade in but the prices are generally not so great.

I was using the Kindle app on my iPad to read since it's been gone. BUT, I just sold my iPad today so I can upgrade to the new one when it comes out hopefully in the next month or so. Hoping it does anyway. I'm going to have to resort to reading on my phone, hahaha!

Froggie, that's awesoem that you can part with your old gadgets before you have the new ones in hand. How much did you sell our iPad for and where, on Ebay? I will sell mine if I buy the 5.

I sold it for $350 on Craigslist. I also sold my 1st and 2nd generation there as well. This one was the 3rd generation (no 3g), white, 16GB, with a smart cover. Certain things like iPads seems to sell relatively easily on Craigslist because so many people want them. That way you get to avoid the fees. Other items that might not be as popular I like to sell on eBay even though they have some crazy fees!

Hubby and I love trying out certain new gadgets when they are released. Unfortunately that means selling some of the stuff before the new ones are released to get the best price, haha. Rumor has it the 5 is going to be a complete body redesign, like the mini is shaped now. Hopefully you can sell yours quickly if you decide to get it!

Interesting, I've never sold anything on Craigslist. Mine is 64 GB (what was I thinking?!) and 4g. Last year, I sold my 16 GB iPad1 on Amazon and got about $200.

My iPad 1 was a 64GB. After using it for awhile, I also had the same thoughts, hah! That's a good price for the iPad 1 last year!

Should have mentioned that it was the 3G version, so I am sure that made a bit if a difference.

WOW, major price difference. Checked yesterday to see trade-in value for my PW, and in new condition it was $95.50. Went today to do the trade-in, and it was only $59.50 so apparently you have to check daily for price fluctuation. Guess I'll keep it for now.

Thank you thank you! Today's price was $108 for good condition so I went for it. I think mine is in excellent condition but we'll see. I've had mine for less than a year and it's always been in the Kindle case. Can't beat that price for a brand new Paperwhite with a new battery is my reasoning. The countdown begins.....

Just tried again today and price was $113.50 for like new, so printed the label. Will wait til GC received to order the new PW2.

Have Touch as backup as it still has more memory, and Audio. I also send all books there as it's my backup library.

Annoying that the wifi one is always going for more than the 3G. I checked last night and the wi-fi one was at 122.00 and the 3G was at 99.00.
