Huh, look what I found

Amazon search didn't find it, but it came up through Google. Maybe it's now available as a Kindle book, but no price is mentioned...

No, it's a legit version for the US market. Still shows a price and has a buy button ($15.99) when I look at the site.

Shows as $11.52 for me.

EDIT: Taiko is available as well, although I haven't purchased it yet.

Oh, fracking hell. I hate geo-restrictions.

I have changed my Kobo profile over to a US address, and the books are suddenly available. The Sept50 code works, cutting the $15.99 price to $7.99. (Which is €5.92.) I've bought both books. Pity that the Heiké Story is not in English. Could you check if this is available at Amazon?

Thinking back that I paid almost €30 for each hardback almost a decade ago, that is a huge price difference.

These two books are going to be near the top of my To Be (Re-)Read List ASAP. I've been wanting to re-read them, but didn't want to lug the 1000-page hardcovers around, not to mention having to squint at the the very small print.

Thanks for finding these. I think I'll leave my Kobo account on the US address; cheaper, and more books to be had. Karma for you. Twice, if I could.

Sorry for the off-topic Grace, but it may have been worth it. If you (ever) intend to read either Musashi or Taiko, which I'd highly recommend, then this is a good time to get because of the Kobo Sept50 code.

The only eBook version I could find is at Kobo in Romanian

Yes, those were the two I found. Thanks.

It seems that Kobo and Amazon omit search results if you are not in the "correct" part of the world for some books. Had I known this beforehand, I would have found those books ages ago.

I read Musashi a few weeks ago in e-book format. It is a very good book indeed and does a great job in describing a critical period in Japanese history. You could say that it is a history lesson, combined with meditations on spirituality, all wrapped in a grand saga. I highly recommend it.

I read to relax and for escapism. My ideal book is one that's well written with believable characters and an absorbing plot.
Megan Whalen Turner: "The Thief" and the sequels. The culture is more or less ancient Greek, the technology is early renaissance, and the characters and plot are fantastic.

Sarah Rees Brennan: "Unspoken" (beginning of a triology, part two is coming any time now): A gothic story taking place today, in a small English town.
"Demon's lexicon" and the two sequels. Urban fantasy, very dark and very funny.
Brennan is one of my favourite authors these days, see http://sarahreesbrennan.com/extras/ for some samples, but stay away from most of the Demon's Lexicon short stories -- all of the are very spoilerish, except "Quiet in the house", which is a very good sample of that universe.

Well in that case I would like to recommend The Master and Margarita by Bulgakov
