Joel, is it perhaps possible to add css rules (embedded) automatically to an epub (not kepub), when you send a book to the device?
Without changing the original?

What a great option! Thanks.

My first try had no success, but it's late now. I will try it tomorrow again.
Do I got it right, that the option embeds the "kobo_extra.css" in each text file?

Not quite. It copies the rules in kobo_extra.css and adds them to every stylesheet file in the book. You won't find a new file in the ePub, but you will (should) find that every CSS file has been modified.

OK. Than it could not work with my epub. It has no stylesheet at all.

That would be a bug with the KoboTouch driver, please report it at https://bugs.launchpad.net/calibre so it can get fixed.

As a workaround, if you use my driver to hyphenate the book (disable the extended features) that will add a CSS file and reference it properly in all the content files, which will give davidfor's code a CSS file to append to. If you disable the extended features in my driver, you get a standard ePub and not a KePub sent to your device.

Ok, I will report that as a bug.

No I don't use your driver to hypenate the book. I disabled the extended feature.

Apropos hiphenation:
At the moment, I'm looking for a way how to disable hiphenation with out a css style embedded in the original file.

A kobo_extras.css similar to this should do it, once the bug is fixed and you can add CSS to books with no CSS files:
Code:
* {
	-moz-hyphens: none !important;
	-webkit-hyphens: none !important;
	hyphens: none !important;
}
I believe it's not possible to fully disable hyphenation without embedding CSS.

Embedding extra CSS rules does not "bother" me, when it's no change in the original file.

By "original file", do you mean the copy stored in your calibre library? No device driver ever changes that, the changes are always made every time the book is sent to your device. That includes my driver, all changes are made to the book in transit to the device and the calibre library copy is never touched.

For a test I embedded a style0001.css with the css code of post 39 into the original epub to check if it really disables the hyphenation.

No, it doesn't.

I hope I didn't make a stupid error.

Yes, that's what I meant with "no changes at the original".

I just wanted explain my issue precisely with the word "original".

When you added the CSS, did you also add a reference to it in every single content file? You have to do both before we can start to determine whether it worked or not.

Yes, I added the reference in every single content file.
That works fast with Sigil: "Link Stylesheets"
