My first K3 (Kindle Keyboard) was replaced near the end of its warranty due to a screen defect. I'm still using the replacement K3. I occasionally read on my 10.1" Acer A500 tablet too.

Ereaders, lets see:
First eReader was my Apple touch (2nd gen) - too old now can no longer be updated
Next came my PRS-505 - battery nearly dead can no longer hold charge, otherwise works great.
Then came my PRS-700 - I use it and the 505 as my back up ereaders, sort of.....
Then came my Nook Classic - no longer works, quit working right after itpassed the one year mark - classified as junk.
Next and current is my Nook tablet ( one of the first out ) still in use.
Next is my Smart Phone a Samsung Galaxy III my purse sized ereader.

My main readers are my Tablet at night and my 700 for day use.

If I were to get another tablet right now, I would go with a Samsung Galaxy Tablet 7". If I were to get another straight eReader, I would definitely go with another Sony.

Until recently, only one true reader: the PRS-505 for over five years. It recently got two friends to play with: Kobo Aura and Cybook Odyssey frontlight. But if I were to list all the devices I (have) read on... Computers (3 desktops, 5 laptops, 2 netbooks, of which 5 still work and exist), tablets (Archos 7, Ipad 1, Nexus 7 and Galaxy Note 10.1), phones (HTC touch pro 2, Xperia mini pro and now Galaxy Note 2) and... a good old PDA. I forgot to mention an old Samsung multimedia device... Those are the ones I actually used, not just tried and returned...

Tech addict anyone?

Oh, I'm late to this, aren't I?

PRS-505 – bought used, cheap, from eBay. Screen broke within a couple of months when SO put a pile of books on top of it. Battery died shortly afterwards. Lovely device, buttons in all the right places, felt solid; but left me with the impression it was very fragile.

Kindle 4 – still have this after 18 months, love it. A few blobs on the screen where things have fallen on it (or I've dropped it) and the ink's bled. No cracks though. It's a tough little thing, but the ink stains spoil it now.

Nook Simple Touch – as a potential replacement for the Kindle. Love the touch screen, hate the dictionary and the inability to add others. The "Home screen" feels tacky and pointless too.

Note: I didn't buy a Kindle until I knew it was possible to (ahem) "format-shift". I don't mind converting my epubs to mobi and mobi files to epub every year or two if it gives me freedom of choice.

Something like an illuminated 650 would be most people's perfect device. They'll either never do it, or they'll price it at $300 so it never has a chance.
