Perdictions for the 2014 Kindle readers

I used to read on my PW, but once I bought a 9" Fire, I do all my reading on that. I am amazed at the battery life - Certainly nothing next to the PW, but certainly able to take a transatlantic flight. I would like it to be a little lighter, though.

My husband left his second kindle in the seat pocket of the airplane. Which is why I always keep mine in my lap. But a better tracking system for lost kindles would be great. My daughter lost her iphone in a field (paying LaX) and they were able to locate it in the dark.

Doesn't really matter what they do, though. I will buy it.

I just want physical page turn buttons, like the one's on the Kindle Keyboard. I honestly can't think of anything else to I'd add or change about the PW.

Not me. My rooted Paperwhite is fine. The only way I would get a new kindle is if it has huge improvements. I want a minimum of 4gb storage. (SD card would be even better). I want to be able to manage collections via Calibre without rooting. If it doesn't meet those two ideals, I won't buy it.

I don't have a 9" Fire, but I've spent some time reading on a 9" Nook HD+. Too large for my taste.

It's vanishingly unlikely that you'll see a Kindle device again with Calibre collection management. The reason for moving the collections file off the user-accessible partition was almost certainly because people were accidentally losing their collections by deleting the file from the mountable drive. Having the collections tucked away safely in the internal partition makes a lot more sense.

Well that makes sense, for the general public. But I am not interested. So I suppose no more Kindles for me, unless they make a 5" Paperwhite. I really like the small size of the Kobo Mini.

I am very happy with my PW. I use it every day. Take it with me on my frequent business trips.

I only need a software improvement. Not via a hack! (Done that, but it has given me synchronizing problems and thus the battery drained too quick.)

What I need is setting of margins manually and hyphenation. The latter in particular for German texts! Why is Amazon not willing to do that? It can be done. Please, Amazon, one more firmware update! That's all it takes.

I love the paperwhite. What I want is for collections to be available in the cloud. And for the myk page to get some massive improvements in speed and usability.
