Thank you. You sent me to look this up. I didn't realize that you need the fourth dot for an ending period. And that when preceding punctuation, there is no space before.

From Wikipedia, the money quote:
Bringhurst suggests that normally an ellipsis should be spaced fore-and-aft to separate it from the text, but when it combines with other punctuation, the leading space disappears and the other punctuation follows. This is the usual practice in typesetting. He provides the following examples:
i … j k…. l…, l l, … l m…? n…!

P.S. The Android keyboard MessagEase offers a single-character ellipsis (drag down and up on the letter E).
