You would think, you would think... there is the basic stuff like some countries using ',' as a decimal separator, instead of '.'. I think everyone knows that one.

But then you have more nuanced changes like should you italic or not italic integrals/derivatives... the good ol' "slanted" vs. "upgright" debate:

Or you might use slightly different symbols for the same thing, or use slightly different notations, or some differences in how Matrices are displayed, and lots of other interesting stuff. I barely scratched the surface on math typography (since I don't really work on complex math works), although I have absorbed some info over the past few months just reading the TeX Stack Exchange.
