Hi twobob,
I have now fixed the compile errors and attached the new peogram to my previous post. Nevertheless you most likely don't want to compile that program. It is only useful when combined with another function which reads the actual input from the keyboard. By now the application does not read any keyboard input at all. This makes it pretty useless for anyone who expects a ready-made solution :-) The only reason why I published this code is to give Pepijn a starting point for his keyboard project. He wanted to inject keystrokes from a C application, so I gave him a starting point to show him how to do it. All further work - such as actually reading the keyboard input and converting it to ASCII - will be done by Pepijn. At least that's how it looks to me now. If there is nothing new until the end of the weekend, then I think I will probably try to code something myself. BTW: I am working on installers for OTG on the Kindle 4. I hope that those will be finished soon(hopefully by the end of next weekend). If someone wants to test the OTG already now, you are welcome to do so. Of course you will need a K4 for this. A serial connection is probably no longer required. Just give me your e-mail address so that I can send you precompiled binaries & installation instructions. Hope this helps! Maybe we can finally ship OTG for a broad userbase soon. Regards, Chris |

yep same here.
I have been working on the kindle touch to see if this applied. it doesn't however I have managed to get the OSK working there too via: xsendkeycode (actually xsendkeys also operates but gives the weird output as seen when typing via VNC. xsendkeycode does not have this issue. ) : ) I wholeheartedly concur about the whole OTG vibe. working on it ![]() |
