The lack of those options usually mean the ereader was bought from an affiliate such as FNAC. As well as changing logos in some places, they also change a few options. But, there seems to be an occasional problem with this. I also have seen the same problem you have. The options disappear and the sleep screen changes. It fixes itself after a few days, but deleting the affiliate.conf file and restarting seems to fix immediately.
