I never seen gift cards in stores for the Kobo site. Thats the Only way I can buy ebooks. I can get gift cards for my Kindle in almost all the local stores & I can buy Sony gift cards at Best Buy. Other than that B&N gift cards But I Never own another Nook! Dont trust them & dont have a cr card to give them to open an account!

But If you folks know of any other let me know... Thanks!

Look for them at Best Buy. I saw Kobo gift cards there and Walmart too if I remember correctly but Walmart could have just been Canada so forgive me if I'm wrong on that.

Yeah. Sony uses Adobe ADEPT DRM, which most readers support. Personally, i still prefer Sony readers.

Google Play sells ebooks in ePub now, and i have seen gift cards at Walmart for them. The only caveat is you may not even realize they support epub or PDF at first. After you buy the book, goto the page for it, and on the How do i read it tab will be links for downloading in epub or pdf, both with ADEPT DRM. Sorry to tell you but books for the Kindle are DRM'ed. They just use Amazon's propriety version to do it instead of the Adobe version.
