![]() The S2 is a very nice phone indeed, I agree entirely, but different users have different priorities. As I say, for me, good battery life is a very high priority because I use my iPhone as an music player almost all day. |

Battery life on a phone is very variable from user to user, even on the same model. My company gave me an iphone3, which is pretty good, but I have turned off 3g and other functionality and happily get 3-4 days out of it. Other people have 3g switched on and other bells and whistles and are lucky to get a day out of it. My old Android 2.1 Wildfire phone lasts for about 4 (or more) days with a battery charge, but I have tuned off pretty much all functionality except texting and making phone calls. My mytouch3g that I just retired, with its old battery, I would get 4 days or so on the battery. I had 3g and mobile data disabled. My new phone, I actually have a dataplan for, so I've had 4G and 3g enabled, and I am only able to get more than a day, if I let the phone sit idle and not use it at all.

I really wanted to give the iPhone a try, but the screen is too small. The Galaxy SII has the perfect combination of decent screen, great performance and plenty of useful and nice apps for what I need and use. And I am not an anti Apple guy ![]() |

![]() While battery life and cellphone usage varies from person to person (too many variables to compare) I can confirm that I do not have to charge mine during the day. When I got home after work, I still have 30 or 40% of the charge, and I browse Internet a lot. However, please remember that the SII has a bigger screen and allows you to use Flash. You do not have that on an iPhone, but the benefit is that Apple takes advantage of that putting a smaller battery and a smaller screen. |

Playing MP3 files seems to use a lot more battery power on the S2 than it does on the iPhone, Jo.

Basicly I use it for music all night and check the internet, messages and update/read the daily mail app at my breaks. I've ussually the majority of my battery left when I get home but I do top it before I leave the house again. I will admit there could be some major variables depending on factors like how many widgets/apps are running, which music player you are using (I use Jetaudio plus), version of Android, different countries having different cell phone standards and even models of the same phones can vary. Also just seen a promising sign for future Android docks . |

I think it's actually the first Alarm Dock for Android but it's a promising sign Gear4 is making it, the only other Android Docks I've seen are a couple of Music Docks from Philips. |

My co-worker's S2 seems to have had a problem, in that case. Playing music seems to drain the battery by something like 10-15% an hour, compared with about 2% an hour on my iPhone. Very possibly he has other battery-intensive stuff going on as well. I'll advise him to check the battery app and see what's using all the power.

If nothing else works it might be worth trying out the dr.web light antivirus app just on the slim chance there is a bit of malware. |
