1 thing that would make the Kindle Touch better is proper documentation on the KF8 format when compiled.

As for #3, Kindle Touch is a bit of a regression from Kindle Keyboard. On the latter, I believe, you could highlight a phrase (e.g. a book title or author) and then search Kindle Store (or Google, or My Items). But those options are gone from KT, at least until we can compel Amazon to restore them. This would let you jump to the book description in Kindle Store and add it to your wish list or download a sample to keep track of it. I should think that at least the ability to launch a search of Kindle Store by such means is something Amazon would have a strong interest in providing since it makes it convenient to buy ebooks. Along the lines of #1 I would like to see some 'chapter reading progress' status, perhaps when you activate the menus/options. '12 page turns left in chapter' or something of that nature. I often want to get to the end of a chapter before stepping away from my reading, and want some idea of how long that will take. What I usually do is note the current location, jump to the beginning of the next chapter (swipe up), note that location, and mentally compute an offset which gives me a rough idea, then use Back to jump back to where I'm at. But it is not very intuitive. I just want to know how many times I need to turn the page to get to the end of the chapter. Not 'real pages', not Locations, but 'Kindle pages'. In a premium product (£169 for my KT3G vs £89 for my K4NT) I'd like at least the same functionality, i.e. chapter markers on the progress bar!

I emailed Amazon's Kindle feedback team about the lack of chapter markers, here's their repsonse (I encourage everyone to email them about this issue):
"I totally understand your concern about the visual indicators as the progress bar while reading a Kindle content on your Kindle Touch. While I understand this is inconvenient for you, I’ll personally include my interest to get a new update that displays the progress bar back again letting you know where chapters finish and also while reading a Kindle content on your Kindle Touch. I've also forwarded your suggestions to the Kindle Development Team and have specially requested to look into this feature for you. It is always important for our Development Team to hear how customers react to all aspects. Your valuable feedback will help us improve your Kindle experience and we're glad you took time to write to us. The Kindle Development Team along with the Kindle Technical Team is currently reviewing your suggestions about getting this feature, as we want to give our customers a fine and efficient Kindle experience and make it user friendly. One of our aims at Amazon.com is to provide a convenient and efficient service to our customers. Thanks for your patience and co-operation in this regard and for helping us make it better." |

I wish the Kindle Touch had more typefaces.
