I paid about $70 a month for 30MB down and 4MB up. My modem only goes to 20mbps but that's okay until they make me upgrade I will keep it. Our cap is 250GB and hubby just discovered Netflix. Our ISP has the strike 3 rule on bandwidth. We've never gone over yet. We just bought a new router that tells us how much bandwidth we are using to keep that from happening. Our ISP is too cheap to give us one.
We use cells phones with data plans. We pay $30 a piece for our data plans with 3G unlimited. Our cell bill is about $200 a month. ![]() |

im getting 30mb down 4mb up from charter (not counting charters speedboost feature wich for the first 10 seconds boosts my download speed by another 30%) not as helfull for long downloads but very nice for viewing new clips online. has 250 gig cap, thinking of upgrading to 100mb down 5mb up as it has a 500 gig cap plus the speedboost feature. speedwise running netflix in hd on 3 tv's in the housem while downloading a game on steam, and my wife running an HD you tube vid all while we are both playing an MMO online doesnt even strain our internet connection. to be honest the only reason to go to the 100mb speed is for the larger data cap wich im not sure we need yet. but as we slowly start getting rid of our cable tv it may be more usefull

ADSL 3.7 Mbps down and 0.5 Mbps up $200/month, yes that's two hundred dollars
3G $20/month, I've never used it enough to find out what its speeds/caps are. Unfortunately, the inconsistency in the performance specs of wireless networks means I'm stuck with the ridiculous ADSL connection. |

Mumbai being a huge city, I would have assumed a much better infastructure for mobile communications. |

I'm sure India will catch up someday, hopefully before I have a lot more gray hairs...

Cable Internet, 15 mbps download speed, 5 mbps upload speed with 125 gb a month for $40 cad (pretty much at par with usd). This is not with one of the "big" companies like Bell or Rogers but a smaller re-seller therefore cheaper.
Cell phone with data saver plan, $5/month for up to 25 MB of data and then automatically fit into right bracket every month based on use, maximum cost 3 GB for $30 a month. (but I've never used that much, usually use under 1 gb) |

DSL with 'up to' 12mb (although the most I've gotten is 9), landline phone with unlimited long distance included, with taxes and such I pay $86/month. I don't have cable - I stream Netflix and Hulu for my TV, so I guess I'm a pretty heavy user, but I don't know how much I actually use. There's no caps or throttling.
I don't have a smartphone, just a cheapo cell from TracFone that lives in the car for emergencies and costs $5.99/month. I'm amazed at the cheap Internet most of you Europeans have, since everything else over there seems so much more expensive. Do your governments subsidize it? |
