I joined to find out information. And that information led to my purchase of a Sony Reader PRS-500. It wasn't because I had a problem. It was to find out more about the 500 and I did and I also found Book Designer and Calibre to help convert content to use with the 500. So I bought one. I did not come here because of a problem I was having.

I saw the 500 with just LRF as a drawback since there was only one real source. But back then, I was able to strip the DRM from MS Reader (LIT) eBooks. Finding Calibre (then LibPRS500) and Books Designer gave me a portable device I can use to read eBooks with and I was able to buy LIT and convert to LRF fairly easily. It was third party software that made something of the 500.
