Perfect tablet could be an iPad 3 running Android 4.1

Nexus 7 will probable be the next best thing. I'm split on the screen size. I may love it or hate it. But I preordered one so I'll find out soon enough.

It sure hit the sweet spot for me. Occasionally I even watch a show on it. It covers my needs for news, reading (exceptionally well actually), communications (phone, e-mail, twitter even to some extent MR, will be better when we get Tapatalk), music, and to my big surprise I can even use it for my research notes (Evernote and OneNote). Now I wouldn't want to write my next treatsie on it, but when the need to edit something hits me I can do that in an instant as well.

If you do get it, splurge for the extra S-Pen with a holder. Feels more like a regular ball pen and having that extra stylus gives me peace of mind.

It is just too small for me. A great phone, but too small to work as a tablet. Since I bought my tablet, the Streak, (same size as the Note) is being used for calls, e-mails, and instant messaging, only. For browsing and reading only when I am stuck somewhere and I don't have a bigger device within reach. To each his own, I guess.

More and more News apps are being adapted to the smaller screen of phones, AP has decent News Widget and Flipboard and Pulse works fine on the smaller screen. Or perhaps I should just change my moniker to Hawkeye Pierce.

To small for video, though (for me at least). I'd regard a 7" screen as the minimum watchable size for that.

Granted, a full feature is a strain, but in an airplane or on a bus it actually isn't all that bad. YouTube videos etc are fine and a short sitcom works too. I compare it to my earlier HTC Desire that I sometimes watched Japanese dramas on and there is a clear improvement. The thing with the Galaxy Note is that I have a HDMI dongle that I attach and then I can view full 1080 HDTV on my Sony Bravia 42" screen.

I am doing alright with my 10'' Acer Iconiatab. I've had it for about 2 months now. I like that it is larger because it is great for reading comics/graphic novels on. Also, it is my only personal computer.

I also like that it has a USB port because I can transfer stuff via jump drive. I can also take podcasts from my Beyondpod folder and put them on my MP3 player (a Sony Walkman) because of the USB port. Oh, it does have an SD card slot. I haven't used that yet.
