Dear Diary:

Today, I wrote a rather anecdotal post on a thread about a book I can't bring myself to read. Note to self: Having experience with one aspect of a topic doesn't make one's conclusions pertinent to the discussion.

I deleted the post, of course. Then, Greek poetry.

Personally, I prefer "for mutual pleasure, within both our comfort zones", but that's just me.

It is? I must have been very lucky then.

Tangent here: You might enjoy the Nature of Desire series, by Joey W Hill. I've only read the first three yet, but the focus is definitely more on intimacy, communication and trust, than on restraints and whips. The latter is of course present (in great detail!) but used as a way of achieving the former more than anything else. It's the kind of series where the secondary characters in one book are the main ones in another.

Tangent over

Trust, and communication. If ever there was a relationship activity where open and honest communication is absolutely vital, it's D/S sex play.

Great tangent, though! The BDSM label is used for so many different types of things, it's difficult to sort through.

For me, only monogamous M/f 24/7 D/s DD works. That seems to be less popular than the others, so I have trouble filtering enough to find them.

So very true. Play and 24/7 both require the deepest respect and trust.

Off to check your rec!
